As much as I'm sure you're correct, I'm not sure my wife's discovery of said account would go over too well... It was for research into online reward systems, I swear!

I'm going to be nit-picky here, but this should really have been described as Church encoding in JavaScript.

I'm guessing you found it now, but there's a very readable paper that talks in more detail about the examples: http://www.cs.brown.edu/~sk/Publications/Papers/Published/sk...

Is there a mechanism for doing this in Django yet? As of right now it seems as though this is just a new handler to use the server. Providing a way for Django to do the long polling, streaming, comet type aspect of it would be the next step

If I remember the interview from Founders at Work, with Max Levchin (PayPal), correctly, PayPal's investors trusted them enough to radically change directions, and it of course payed off. I think this is probably dependent on who you and yo

There's no reason to pre-order, since it was released today. I did pre-order last week, and Amazon told me it'd be shipped on the 15th, sigh .

This is the type of thing you don't need goto for, if you have first class continuations, or properly optimized tail recursion. Continuations would allow you to write your own control structures in much the same way.

I've been admiring fish shell for a while, but use too many computers to justify trying to use it. As a result, I use bash, despite its shortcomings for the pure reason of portability. I can rest at night knowing that the next unix machine

> $5.20 (plus shipping) for 4 pens that "write amazingly well" is too much money? It's not about the money by any means. 1) I use a pen pretty rarely. 2) I'm not spending time or energy on the "problem."
