I hope they borrow ambient occlusion. It makes it possible to see the edge of a voxel that's in front of an identically colored voxel, and makes the whole game much easier on the eyes.

FYI, processing.js is a javascript re-implementation of Processing[1], which has a much longer pedigree than the others you mention (it was started in 2001). Personally, I've often been annoyed with Processing's generic name, as it can make

Slightly off-topic, but I'm actually disappointed by the spread of Internet access to things like planes and trains. One of the things I enjoy the most about flying is that I feel disconnected from the rest of the world, and I try to take a

The 64-bit TerminalColours SIMBL plugin that's linked to in the README doesn't play nicely with binaryage's 64-bit Visor plugin, for some reason. However, Evan Phoenix's fork[1] works perfectly for me. [1] https://github.com/evanphx/termin

One of the fundamental reasons that Chernobyl occurred lies in how that reactor was designed. Russian nuclear reactors were designed to be over-moderated , while modern power reactors are under-moderated . The moderator is the substance w

i) You're correct in that venting the steam won't solve the cooling issues. Venting the steam is being considered in order to reduce the steam pressure in the primary system. If the pressure gets too high, then the primary system could rupt

Update: A meltdown at this point is possible , since the decay heat is pretty significant. However, as long as the core remains submerged, it shouldn't be an issue. In the worst case, you could more or less stick a hose into the primary sy

I'm pretty sure it's some straightforward cropping/resizing of some subset of the frames in the movie. The barcode for Slumdog Millionaire[1] presents some pretty compelling evidence that this is the case. That barcode has a persistent patt

I don't understand people who claim it's a "mindfuck" movie. The plot is pretty straightforward and self-consistent. What it is is an extremely well put-together movie. The runtime of that movie is 148 minutes-almost two and a half hours. Y

I doubt supply constraints are an issue. They're the single largest purchaser of flash memory in the world[1]. I imagine manufacturers would be bending over backwards for them, since their orders must all be quite large. [1]: http://edition

Strictly speaking, yes. O-notation describes the growth of a function as the argument tends to infinity. Formally, the statement "f(x) is O(g(x))" means that there's some point x_0 such that f(x) is less than a constant factor times g(x) fo
