This is something I usually take care of by throttling the relevant event listeners (in an AJAXed site) but the way this article puts it makes me wonder if this is as easy as globally disabling double clicks on links and buttons: docu

I don't see the problem with building new products, Google was just search in the beginning. The problem arises when you screw your original product by tacking everything else onto it. What if Google turned into Yahoo.com? Google’s cor

It's ironic how the platform that became so popular because of its speed and simplicity has turned into this. I like it better when software is invisible. While iCloud isn't as neat as 2012 Dropbox, it's better than good enou

I’d have another suggestion: Don’t break the back button on your CSS-free blog. This is arguably easy to avoid, yet people manage to do it.

IANAS but from what I understand, the speed is constant, but it appears to travel more slowly due to the atoms found along the way, which absorb and reemit the photon. In the case of the fibers, the light just bounces on the walls of the tu

This is it. There’s no difference between someone who goes faster and someone who claims to go faster if there’s no one to validate the result. Bugatti’s “oh yeah we went superfast but we won’t bother to validate the record” is not very d

I think that’s misleading since Safari’s development is not generally discussed outside the occasional WebKit blog post and the rare Safari developer on Twitter who may or may not rightfully ignore any questions/arguments. A lot of fea

The point is, why use it at all if both values are equivalent to "missing"? I don't see a practical difference between undefined and null in the vast majority of cases, which is the the author is arguing. Again: In the vast

No, most likely I'll just use undefined because my abstractions are not a complicated mess that need 2 null types. Found? string Not found? undefined

Undefined is “stored” the same way in JSON, which means it isn’t. This only becomes a “problem” when you convert a JSON string to an object and the data contains an array with a null value in it. That’s the only case where null exists in JS

If the value is expected to be a Boolean, use undefined to set it as undefined. For everything else, use false to “explicitly assign it”, you don’t need a third type.

A solution could be displaying the credibility of the page. For example: age of URL, how many users have been using it, how reputable is the domain, and so on. Even if a bank changes their login URL, the old domain will point to it. The iss

I don’t understand why you don’t want to blame the victim. My own father entered his bank password into a random site he received via SMS. The url wasn’t even similar. The only solution to this is to tell users to look at the URL bar and ma

Can anyone tell me why 1Password is specifically suggested over, say, literally any other password manager? Why is 1Password better than your browser’s own, free, preconfigured manager?

Yeah, I mean, screw IE11 users. An unsupported srcset just means that they will not benefit from this enhancement but they will just download a standard size. This is perfectly fine. As for the syntax, yes, it’s better to always have some g

Given that it’s a wrapper to make ffmpeg more user friendly, I don’t see the problem. npm has a lot of tools that make creating CLI tools a breeze. For example there’s Listr and the more generic Ink (“React for CLI”)
