   I don't think there is a major problem with Yahoo products. I tried Yahoo mail yesterday and the signup process was nice. It looks like a viable alternative to gmail. Google is a nicer name, it comes from googol which gives it some mat

   "Yahoo"... The brand is the problem. It sounds like a good name for a personal website in 1998 (with 85 gifs and a turquoise background).

   This is the part that happens before you send the message. The post is talking about the automated browser that visits the link after you post it and waits for 15 seconds with socket.io (thus javascript activated).

   Why stay for so long though? Fetching an image is fast and using an automated browser is a bit overkill. Maybe they wait for 15 seconds in case the server is slow...

    You are right, at each iteration, the information propagates all the way to the bottom, but climbs 1px at the time.

    I learned what technical dept was using Rails. Rails feels like constantly creating technical dept for future developers, but I guess it is because you are more conscious of it.
