Have used linux on thinkpads since the 90s. Rules of thumb: - Use older thinkpads off business lease is great - stick to intel video graphics - max out the ram and upgrade storage (NVMe)

Main pro for me was free network gear. Servers are more expensive that self hosting - but I don't need to buy routers and switches or some expensive HP blade server that has internalized switches.

I have seen a 1 million tx per second on bitcoin lightning demos. USD dollar hasn't seen intense inflation recently. Or a kleptocratic government like most of the world. That said there are large issues using it as a payment mechanism
