I'd say learn another 1 or 2 languages, but not to repeat what you can solve with Python, e.g: - Kotlin/Swift/Dart for mobile frontend - C/Rust for system programming - JS for web frontend - ... (fill the blanks with you

My totally unscientific hypothesis is: "solving problems you do care about" is usually the easiest way to make money, e.g CRUD and web API. Once your skill is more polished and your experience is wider, then try to look for jobs w

I once read on one my social media timelines someone wrote that "pursuing your passion is a luxury". Certainly nice to have, but just make sure you have a decent living first. :)

Asian here. All of my work meetings are done with camera off... except onboarding ones. So does with social/church meetings. I may turn the camera on for a few minutes, then turn it off.

FASM (Flat Assembler) by Tomasz Grysztar: https://flatassembler.net Unfortunately it won't run on recent Macs since it's written in 32-bit assembly, so some modifications are needed.

Perhaps Fortrans wasn't designed as a general purposed programming language. But at least that's what was used by Niklaus Wirth to write the first Pascal compiler... :D

Well, eventually, different tools for different purposes, though. For my purpose, SL66/Hasselblad outperforms the Leica for these reasons: - interchangebale film backs - more longer lenses - macro work - bigger negatives You may assume

While I admire Leica rangefinder cameras (both screw mount and M system), if I were stranded on island and only allowed to have 1 camera, then it would be a Hasselblad, or Rolleiflex SL66 :D

I think lots of photojournalists in the 60s switched to 35mm because it allowed them to shoot more frames, and 35mm is sufficient for newspaper. On the otherside, pros working for magazine/fashion industry/etc still used medium&#x

I remember Windows 3.1 had a similar built-in LAN messenger. Forget what the name was. Not WinPopup, obviously. When I was in junior high school in 2000-2001, our computer lab was Windows 3.1-powered. Being able to chat with anyone on the l

Well you don't have to use Leitz lenses. Zeiss, Voigtlander also make M-mount lenses. Overall excellent and much more affordable. Also, Leica screw mount lenses + M39-to-M adapter is also a great option :D

GUI-based. Cool. But unlike xv6, I guess skimming the code wouldn't be that easy/straightfoward. And the build system looks unfamiliar, unlike xv6 which only requires 1 Makefile. Let me try it, anyway.
