Definitely planned. If you look closely at the SpaceX stream, the first two engines that were shut down were the ones restarted during the landing flip maneuver. Too bad about the loss of fuel pressure from the header tank. SN8 wasn'

It would be nice for the environment and the Chinese people if they pursued reuse more. Landing the 1st stage is a lot better than dropping it on top of a village and exploding... as part of a normal and successful launch. No, I'm not

Shivetya is talking about landing rockets afterwards. If they keep up the launch cadence next year, they will surpass the Shuttle in number of reuses in a space program.

It had a decent physics engine for the time, which I appreciated. They talked about the basics of flight, energy management, maneuvers, and more. Chuck would yell out "Check Six!" when an enemy was coming up behind you.

As a sort of microcosm, my undergrad CS started off with a top end dual-VAX, and ended with Sequent Symmetry 386 multi-processor systems that had vastly more processing power and memory.

MEMS accelerometers were definitely a thing. But commercial, low-cost MEMS was not yet a thing at that time. Motorola was rolling out their first product around that time, which was derived from military-grade hardware. That was for autom
