Another interesting alternative to tinc is ZeroTier ( https://www.zerotier.com/ ). I am using it to remotely play Steam games over the Internet and it is surprisingly easy to set up. Probably due to existence of centralized

In my experience for a simple connection between two hosts a port forwarded over ssh was significantly faster than tinc VPN. Obviously ssh is port forwarding is not a network, but sometimes you don't need a network.

Does it mean that virtually all (old) DNS servers could be potentially hacked now? If I don't run anything UDP based, am I safe?

Mentioned above RFC specifies port number 314159 which is greater than possible max 65535. So once again unrealistic standards that does not work force people to invent something sane. /s

I really hope that Amazon will provide at least basic per-bucket monthly statistics for free or a small price. It is unintuitive that you need to parse logs or pay $10 month to find out how much you are paying for each bucket.

For several years (2001-2005) we've already had the situation when the single browser engine (Trident, MSIE) had the dominant share of 90% and more. Indeed, this was bad for the Web as a platform, pretty much in ways the article describes.

Would be great to see some real computers inside computer games. No more solving crappy puzzles to hack a terminal.
