Every library I have ever considered using and almost all of the ones that I onboarded have a "Quickstart" section. eg Guava, Guice,

Question: do you plan to use some sort of ML recommendation system ?

buddy, don't be so modest, this is an ambitious project and I hope you succeed ! This is tough work, I tried to build a Webflow-ish editor myself and it nearly destroyed my sanity.

I tried ShadCN then quickly ported everything over to Mantine. A bit of config magic later, I can quickly whip out functional UIs faster than I can think of features.

The issue seems to be that LLMs already consumed large parts of the templatized code somewhere. Not directly from TW but from some other project. Codex / Claude are also exceptionally good at whipping out a UI quickly even when given f

Standard promo advice tbh. Do the job and then ask for it. Except there's a brief moment when you are adding value not in proportion to your compensation which will be infuriating. Sometimes its also possible you end up stagnant where

Plus who gives a shit if a penguin teaches the course as long as its good. Open AI Board member teaching an AI course sounds like that terrible startup course that Peter Thiel taught on coursera. Where one of the lessons focussed on Vim. Al

None of the generic thought leadership books are particularly useful. I've noticed that the best way to keep relevant as an engineer is to ignore flavor of the day frameworks and tech but rather focus on the basics. For example, if you

I am pretty sure it was a lack of demand that killed the startup. Either of these are valid problems and quite easy to deploy and work with.

I don't think you have to claim you made that thing up. I don't care about the language, the hyperbole of the post just the claims. The claim that you know the OP of an anonymous reddit account is where I'd stop reading.

What about the claims though ? I dont see the point of getting hung up on just this and discrediting the rest of the story. Tbf this proves nothing without more confirmations however it might be possible to design client side A/B tests

Yup. Engineers do have visibility into fintech systems that they implement, maybe even more so than the bean counters since they can trace exactly which txns went where. These things are logged.

2. tip theft and pay the rent are valid terms here. 3. quite likely something like this will exist and it might not be called that right in the code base but it sounds like something that will show up in Slack conversations. From a pure ML

Started by reading lots of articles on Topcoder (they have a dynamic programming tutorial which imo is the best material on DP). Then did exercises from CLRS before writing a single line of code. I considered it leg work and not of very hig

Its useful for answering questions related related to back references. eg who was this character if you're reading a novel with too many of these.

I don't use LLM for writing just factual research stuff. And this would happen even in those questions.

+1. My favourite bit is when pivots are chosen randomly in quicksort, we get linearithmic expected complexity. The CLRS proof using indicator random vars was a oh-shit moment.

Its weird how object detection models are "AI" now. These models and their weird errors have been around for quite a while. The issue is vendors claiming that there is no chance of errors. Ideally you would have a 2 eyes system su

Definitely one of the As in the FAANG. In fact both the As have terrible recruiting practices. One is a known ghoster and given that you were ghosted after a senior level meeting tells me which one.

The author mentions simplicity in their Readme. I would be very interested to read their journey and some of the decisions they made where they preferred simplicity. More of this please !

Vibe coding doesnt mean the author doesnt understand their code. Its likely that they don't want carpal tunnel from typing out trivial code and hence offload that labor to a machine.

I use it for Java. I have never used anything else and never had any performance issues on my 16GB MacBook Air. If its Webstorm maybe its because of automatic refresh capability ? I've had perf issues with VSCode as well with autobuild
