And theoretically, when you reach a level where you have very few tasks left and very large available workforce, you can close the remaining "holes" by volunteering force alone.

I would like to correct myself a bit. I am not sure there is bribe involved and in what decisions but I highly suspect it. I don't think companies are willing to harm people, but I strongly suspect they care too little about citizens&#

Some companies are willing to harm humans and the environment for profit. I am active against a gas processing project in Israel, planned to be built near residents. Thousands of people joined the battle to protect their water and air again

I wish this kind of topic would draw more attention and discussion. Greed is absolutely infuriating. I have similar "poison people to save money" energy project in the making in my country. Engaging in activism and crowd funding.

So isn't that enough to prefer social democracy over capitalism?

The first worry comes to my mind is, in case of extreme inequality, the richest could buy the truth.

I decided to switch to firefox and DDG this week after seeing post on Chrome's new cookies policy. The post helped me be more aware and affected my choice.

They have to realize its not just about the auth cookies, its about ethics, and it should be reflected in the entire product line. Using Firefox and DuckDuckGo now because I appreciate better ethics. Honestly I become more and more aware re

I wonder if crowd funded open source search engine could be successful. If crowd funding done right and transparent, I am sure there will be a strong community behind it.

Some people don't realize what terrible things are done "in the name of security". I learned about a couple of environmental projects in my country that caused fatal pollution for residents, + ones in the making. And what is

If the right conditions are heat and humidity, and mosquitoes are recently seen in this area more than usual, global warming could make this more common.

Its amazing how divided Israel culture is yet the idea of having no cars for one day is totally embraced by anyone. Gives me a feeling of how polluted my daily life is with noise and gas. Fun fact: today is Yom Kippur.

I like your point here. I think 1/0 = Infinity+ is a satisfying expression. Its a clear concept which can be visualized in a simple graph. I think 0/0 is a different concept than 1/0. It's a different expression. 0/

In school I learned that my country is a democracy, but I grew up to learn it is practically a plutocracy. I count on crowd funding platforms to help the majorities confront the titans. I witness this battle all the time

From the activism I follow in my country in last decade, I learned that politicians are apathetic, and a good activism is needed to make them move. That's how lazy governments work. So I think until we fix governments performance we n

What will prevent the mega-corps from trample democracy? Do we have to trust the wealthiest 1% to be ethical? Or should we tax the 1% percent until it becomes, say, 5% - "decentralized" enough to keep democracy in the safe zone?

I agree. govs are not trusted because public knowledge is broken. I believe we have to fix it. Also, I think inequality must be kept under control (taxes?) to protect democracy from private hands with too much capital. But taxes are useful

Just an idea. Why not penalize by percentage? If the goal of penalties is to prevent companies from breaking laws that are equally valid for everyone. Otherwise, companies holding most capital will be practically above the law.

Another key factor is a very high level of trust in the country. As citizens put it: “I have to pay a lot of taxes, but I don’t really care, because I know that [the state] gives you so many things at the same time.” I don't know how N
