I thought the 'rowter' pronunciation re. computing was a purely American influence. In the UK at least, router (in a computing context) _does_ rhyme with hooter. It is, after all, something that routes traffic -- exactly like your

Huh, I didn't know these were a) a 'thing' (as in, more than one across the UK, and b) officially called 'magic roundabouts'. I've encountered one in Hemel Hempstead; it was a little scary (istr you can see tra

Living in the UK, there's no courier I've had worse experience with than UPS, both for domestic and [inbound] international deliveries. When having goods shipped from America, I always prefer USPS. It's interesting to see how

I have a Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth keyboard. On Linux, it does this. On OSX, however, it still takes a few seconds to wake up, but the keystrokes typed while 'waking up' do make it through to the screen in the right place. I keep

I disagree a little; sometimes you just want a quick ball-park quote and having to upload a file (which you may not have drawn yet) is an instant turn-off.

Indeed. It's a little-known fact that Celeron, Pentium and i3 processors also support ECC, when used in a motherboard with a server/workstation chipset. It's just i5s and i7s that are crippled. Cunning.
