I don't disagree to be honest because there are plenty of US cities where you can't do much in terms of urbanism even if you had the skills to build. They were built at the wrong era, for cars. They are just not dense enough.

I think your error here is that you assume that politics do not exist everywhere people are involved. A tram recently got built where my parents live near Paris. They had to involve something like 15 cities, 3 departments, one region, the F

Yes, exactly. US engineers are obviously not dumber than the ones from other countries, they are just doing other kind of work.

Germany has unions four time stronger than France and it has no issue building stuff. Union bashing is dumb story telling to keep the taxes of billionaires low.

Would it be wrong to say that the US has lost the engineering skills necessary to build this kind of big projects? During World War II the US was an mind blowingly efficient juggernaut of public projects, but it seems that it has lost is wa

My cynical guess: Elon Musk's big plan is simply to build a huge personality cult around him and Twitter is perfect for that. It's not enough for him to be exceptionally rich, he wants to be adulated . He wants to hear he is the

Great in which sense? I would argue that git is easy because you are already familiar with it, but it doesn't make shared documentation simple. How could he do that? Do you think that Linus Torvalds had a use case similar to Wikipedia

The right way to manage documentation is to have some kind of a wiki, not to use git. Git is terrible at managing documentation, it was designed for her bazaar-style software projects like the Linux kernel, which is very much a completely d
