Obviously, but if we're talking about scales like 50%, it's probably more efficient to roll the dice.

I think this is a strong argument for the need for something like Applets, Flash, and Silverlight to be an open standard. I appreciate the argument you make, but I think the simple counter argument is the ability for the framework to be mod

Not money, fiat currency. Something without intrinsic value adding nothing of value and resulting ultimately in the ability to control and monitor its usage for inevitably nefarious purposes. It always has been.

Complexity and quality can be completely orthogonal. When they aren't, complexity and quality of code are proportional, which is a smell. Readability is often cited in lists of what makes good code, and rightfully so, but it isn't

I agree with you to some degree, but it needs to be said that _good_ code is very expressive. It should reveal the developer's intent clearly. "Doing a thing" is fine for amateurs or a quick script, but for large enterprise a

A serfdom supported by taxation (theft) isn't exactly the definition of equality. We should be aiming for individual liberty. Equality is a false god.

They're notably distinct in that you can simply exit their system and choose not to participate. Calling them banks is apt, I suppose, but calling them central banks takes gravitas away from the most heinous, utterly unethical institut

I don't disagree in the shortest term, but remember it can easily be inflated (deliberately) into oblivion such that carrying a valuable amount is impossible. The logical extension of this sentiment is a gold backed currency. While we&

I've seen this brought up time and time again on fitness forums. I strongly contest the assertion that cheap food is unhealthy food. Beans, rice, veggies, unprocessed protein can be bought in bulk for very cheap and are massively more

The principle difference is that CBDC is programmable rather than just digital. We aren't expressing concerns over a digital currency, but rather the degree to which a nefarious govt will have control over it.

It doesn't work so well with controversial subjects, even here. Instead, only the more popular ideas, often the same, get pushed to the top. In retrospect, I view this more negatively than not.

You will never find a more self-loathing bunch, in fact! However, there are several recurring threads, some older than Reddit, dedicated to self improvement and escaping neetdom. There are also threads openly embracing it.

Their manipulation of votes and what was allowed to be on /all is pretty well documented. After a certain point, the_donald and several other right-of-center subs were disallowed entirely to appear on the meta lists.
