WhatsApp is a masterclass in network effects. You can no longer decide whether or not you want to use it. Because your employer uses it, you have no choice but to use it. The only thing that will disrupt this is if security concerns make co

A counterpoint. All recent Mac OS versions have been a steaming pile for the first few releases, Catalina and Big Sur included.

That post was all over the place but it reflects that we have good people trying to improve things everywhere. In some places, the company agenda doesn't allow the team to do what they think is best, and that is okay. As long as we hav

If the M1 can do at 10W what others can do at 45 to 100W, then yes, ARM seems to be the only way. Sadly there is no news of competition. Nothing from Intel/AMD or even Qualcomm. Microsoft's ARM attempts to take on Chromebook seem

The best corporations are heartless machines (in this case this applies to the contractors primarily, not sure if FB would mind if the work is getting done). We should be thankful for the jobs that we have today. Corporations of the future

Would the M1 with more cores be able to beat the threadripper at the same wattage? Right now the M1 stands at a score of 8000 Vs Threadripper's 25000. The comparison I am sure is not just about comparing benchmark scores, but is there

Can AMD/Intel pivot to ARM and provide the efficiency benefits to the non-Apole ecosystem? Can Apple's M1X/M2 outperform desktop CPUs? Qualcomm tried their hand at desktop CPUs with Microsoft a few years back. Is it time they

Fun ideas without any possibility of a viable business model is what I am struggling with too. Ideas take away a lot of your time when you are chasing them and only once the prototyping is done or sometimes when the initial product is out y

Will the comparisons (M1 has a 3.5 times faster CPU than the previous MBA and similar comparisons for the MM and MBP) help us figure out what is the actual difference between the processor performance between the 3 systems?
