Maybe not exactly rule 1 of web design (also applies to ui design in general), but pretty close: DO NOT fuck with basic functionality.

That's the weirdest thing I've seen. I can understand it if you're sharing private things, but why would you do that with your public website?

I see there have been several fan translations. Do you think it would have been better/cheaper/easier to have in-game support for adding translation patches and working with the community, rather than hiring professionals?

If you notice, there's some space left between the maximise and close, so they're more like _[]...X Plus, you can maximise/restore by double-clicking the titlebar which is a larger target and I expect most users learn that an

That's because Microsoft's guidelines say not to leave icons in the notification area any more for running apps. For skype and friends, the behaviour has always been to keep running even after the last window is closed, but keep a

I don't know why you say goodbye, did I say hello? Here's hoping that Windows 9 will be good enough for me to move away from 7. I just want to dual-boot it for gaming, I have zero patience to deal with their new UI paradigms.

The XBox controller is a clone of the Dreamcast controller. If you go back even further to the Megadrive, it had 6 buttons (on advanced controllers) with two rows of buttons - xyz and ABC arrayed from left to right. When the Playstation 1 w

I don't. I put the password in the SSID, as a form of a captcha. Any marginally intelligent human would break it, but an automated system sniffing out unprotected wifi won't.

Most games allocate everything they'll need upfront on level load, or at least try to. If you do the same here, you'll get the same benefits, but with the additional safety of a GC.

Yes, that's frequently done in win32 land, but in this case, I'd argue the following should have been done 1) Why provide a copy of the parameter at the end of a struct? 2) How will you ever expand that struct given the fact that

Coincidentally I just got back from a longish bike ride. Another +1 from me :) It does require some upfront investment in learning to navigate your city and region on bicycle as opposed to on car, but I think it's well worth it.

Isn't this drive using relativistic effects similar to what allows a magnet falling down an aluminium tube to produce an opposite magnetic field and slow down? I mean, clasically speaking that effect is also impossible.
