You're assuming there is a single perfect translation, or even a single perfect translation algorithm across all domains. I'd wager that translating legalese and translating prose will need completely different algorithms trained

One thing I'll definitely miss is being able to look at traffic with wireshark. I've used it to great effect when I had to debug a failing service and wanted to see exactly what the browser was sending that was tripping it.

This seems ripe for abuse. So I just need to flag someone's account as abusive (and god knows there's always a way to frame something as abusive) a few times and they can never register with that email and/or phone number? Di

Nah, that's the CPU the Terminator used because it's the only design that can survive time travel. Skynet probably uses something a lot more modern. The Terminator himself runs his consciousness routines on bare metal.

As an aside, it seems bizarre that you can exhaust the address space simply by allocating large objects over and over. Doesn't the windows vm system reclaim unmapped pages? Surely the .NET runtime uses holes in the Large Object Heap? I

People, please. This presents a problem poignantly and provides a pleasant programmatic solution - the precise point of "hacker news". Be not so butt-bothered about non-apparent algorithm applications.

You'll need to replicate the full physical feedback, i.e. you'll need a simulator machine akin to what flight pilots use.

Grep can also server you pretty well most of the time. It will happily search in binary files and the -b option will show you byte offsets.

Honest question, I'm not familiar with C#: would putting the Log in the finally clause not have the same behaviour? That is, bool _operation_X_success = false; try { ... _operation_X_success = true; } finally [

The good part is that the deception is already baked-in into the final statistics. Basically it tells you "if the woman you're sleeping with is on the pill, you have this much chance of having an unexpected child". So wear a

At the semantic level it evaluates to an lvalue. Or an lvalue reference. It depends on what the type of t is. Given the syntax, the author obviously meant some vector-like type, so it should, if you're following good style, evaluate to

It seems to me it describes pretty much what happens in C++, but with pythonized syntax, because explaining the exact syntax of all the sigils would be too much for such a short article.

If they are a really good programmer, they most probably have touched pretty much every popular language and paradigm. Give them one to two weeks to get used to the language and another couple of weeks to get used to the frameworks.
