Not stupid at all. Like many early questions in programming, it's actually a fairly deep. Because FreeRTOS is unlikely to play nice with your host OS, typically you'd need to emulate a target (say, arm) using an emulator like qemu

Articles Of Interest (a 99 Percent Invisible spinoff podcast) had an episode where they smell ambergris and describe it. Avery Trufelman (the host) described it as 'like looking at a landscape through a pinhole' https://

Highly recommend the Sound Escapes podcast by birdnote. It takes you to multiple locations where you can (among other sounds) listen to the bird calls. https://www.birdnote.org/blog/2019/07/sound-escapes

That's what I've done with my email. It's either in my inbox, or 'archived'. Mentally much easier than deleting, but functionally the same

When I was doing IT support one off the trickiest things was trying to get people to stop giving me their passwords. I am not interested in that sort of liability if something gets stolen!

I'd like to add, you're doing a great job of listening to this feedback, despite it's tone. I'm not sure I'd do the same, so well done. Of course, I love Datasette, so thank you for your work on it.

I believe Reply All did a podcast on 'services' that essentially blackmail you by taking arrest records and placing them on the first page of google. So an arrest can become a black mark on your record. Or, you pay up. Pretty scum

I did the same a couple of years ago, and came to the same conclusion, which is why I've settled more-or-less on the system above.

I like the idea, but I would be wary of it for this reason: the people who would like to use it are probably the most miserly members of /r/personalfinance. The kind who are likely to quibble about the $8/mo plan compared to

I love AWK with a passion. It's just perfectly fills the gap between grep, sed and 'I better fire up a text editor'. I guess 'perl -pie' used to sit in that niche, but I've never used it much.

While I agree that recurring costs should be accounted for, I'm trying to get a bit of balance in my approach. To put it in perspective, it's not out of the realm of possibility that I could switch jobs and make $11k extra this ye
