That'd be freakishly cool. Definitely get some attention that way. There's actually a secondary problem that this exposes, though: is it actually possible to submit a resume to Google as a URL? I submitted a "cold" Google job application a

You make a really good point, patio11. I know when I've written with paper resumes, I've always rewritten the resume to suit the job application (in addition to writing an extremely specific cover letter.) I don't know how that works when i

Looks like a nice resume. :) The following feedback probably isn't google-specific, and it's really just nitpicking, but I would say: - "move to the U.S. for about two years in mid-2010". AFAIK, most employers (maybe not Google) would proba

I'd be more curious on how much pagefile it's using at idle, and how much swapping it did to just get the Control Panel open.

That'd work, the only catch being that when you see 1 you need to know where 2 is, and it's on the other side of the mattress (I have a latex mattress, it weighs about 30kg so it's a pain to turn over, even to look. Turning it twice because

That's quite an amusing extrapolation. (Kinda O/T) I amused my girlfriend the other day by taking a permanent marker to our mattress. On one side, I wrote "top to bottom" in the top-left and bottom-right corners, facing the edges. On the ot

I think teaching them half-assed like this is even worse than not teaching them at all. Students' initial impressions are that version control is a waste of time and that testing is pointless busywork, best done at the end. It seems like th

+1 for each of these. My university's CS & Soft Eng courses had them, but they were bullet points in the curriculum that the lecturers were neither interested in nor competent with. So, source control meant "use RCS on your local machin

I showed this post to my girlfriend a while ago, and there was a lot of "OMG this is you". Not exactly the same as me (same as RiderOfGiraffes' comment), but I think it helped her understand a lot of my day to day nerdiness. Recommended if

I'd be overjoyed if he just started blogging again. I never made it through all of the "Programmer's View of the Universe" series, but I loved reading nearly all of his other stuff.

Yeah, I was wondering about this too. Palm seem to have decided they can ape Apple with this - launch the awesome new phone first, come out with a third party developer platform second. The problems are, of course: * Apple had Mobile Safari

I thought this as well when I was reading it. I think what the article is suggesting, though, is not just that the subroutines would be "reusable" as in useful if called from another part of the program. He's suggesting that the contents of

Impressive. Certainly puts CPU-based solutions using "off-the-shelf" crypto libraries into their place. I hope whoever ends up winning (and/or doing well) posts details and code of their solution, this has been an interesting contest to fol
