Zig is an excellent middle ground though it doesn't hit the maturity spot - I keep on having to update build.zig with most releases. That said, what exactly was the issue you had with Go?

The developers they measured, were they using the languages for the exact same tasks? Otherwise it's just stating that they assign the languages to categories of problems they are equally efficient in.

For this kind of stuff Sublime has always been extremely good. But I still struggle to find a reason to not use neovim, it's replaced all my editors.

Just scan them over the course of a few months, spending a couple of hours a day. If your notes are anything like mine there might be arrows, drawings or text effects like underlines and circling of words that you'd want to conserve. Y

Anecdotally, I have noticed heavy TikTok usage to later on cause a person to performatively manifest behaviors related to a given disorder to fit in.

In Islam there's a certain reverence for memorizing the Quran, unlike in Christianity. In fact, being a Hafiz or your child being a Hafiz is a point of pride. This in part goes back to Islamic lore/history. Another part is that th

I recall being a student in the biomedical electronics/biomedical devices lab and was curious about one piece of equipment that cost about ~10k EUR. The device is relatively simple to make so I asked my teacher why were they so expensi

Funnily enough, I think Windows might just be it. Wine (+ Steam's Proton) works incredibly well these days, a huge improvement from the old days when barely anything ran, and what did run required heavy tweaking or even custom compilat

I'm not aware of any serious Go project without linting and tests. In fact, most projects I've worked on won't even merge a PR with ignored errors. Also, `go test -race` is a Go feature, there's nothing wrong with using

Strange, I've worked on complex projects in the distributed space with Go and it's very easy to catch these things with `-race` and linters.

I'm not sure how I can autogenerate non-trivial logic, which is my point. How would you handle a typical case where based on request data an endpoint fetches some additional information from various sources and depending on that perfor

Basically my PoV. The API code itself is the best possible documentation. Not to mention, how else do you see what complex logic might happen in an endpoint? It seems typespec deals only with extremely simple CRUD APIs, for which again just

Note: devenv.sh is a sane wrapper around nix. It's fairly straightforward to use. Running `devenv init` and then looking at the devenv.nix file should be all you need to know what to do. Package names can be found by `devenv search $na

I've been a long time user of devenv.sh and can definitely recommend it as a nice wrapper around nix. I often want to have some packages/tools installed when I'm working on a project and docker isn't always the right fit
