"Verizon's CDMA network doesn't support simultaneous voice and data as with the GSM version" This is probably a deal killer for me. I do this quite frequently. I also remember on the old edge network data activity sometimes sent callers t

A city could be destroyed by a nuclear bomb at any time - that doesn't mean components of a system shouldn't be reasonably durable. Often it's impractical or unnecessary to have multiple servers for a proof-of-concept, a staging/test serve

Interesting to see this convergence of syntax. Unfortunately, it's not true that you don't have to learn a "new syntax." As often with Ruby libraries, the devil is in the subtleties. This does not work (although I think it could): {"foo b

In case anyone was wondering, Ebay's partnership with Tom-Skype is simply to give the Chinese government a back door through Skype's security. If you are using Skype in China, DO NOT use Tom-Skype. Find a way to get the real thing. An old

Not really. Mistakes happen to every company. Handling the tiny number of deals like this that go wrong well makes you look like a great company. Implying that they are "locking out others," as if somehow they've damaged one of their pote

I'm glad the government is contributing to pickup artist literature. Indeed, I think uncertainty is a major part of attraction. It creates insecurity and a desire to settle the uncertainty in ones own favor which manifests itself in attract

Ray is smart and very insightful. His predictions are informed and often durable. I find his self promotional tone, constantly referring to "my" theory and what "I" did, grating and difficult to take seriously. I haven't read much of Kurzwe

Fair enough. If they used them though, they might get sniped at for not sticking to web conventions. There's no cover from snipers on the internet. There might be reasons not to as well - I imagine they break some bookmark tools, etc.

In this case, it's not typography - it's the closet thing they can get to graphic design using ASCII in one line and still being dignified. If instead of a colon it was a pretty little fig leaf we'd all feel more pedantically satisfied. U

Complaining about proper punctuation in web page titles seems a little pedantic. Using colons and other strange "punctuation" is a substitute for graphics and styling since these are not available in title bars. For those cases where it i

I've reduced my shampoo and soap usage after reading the same article with largely positive results. I'm not sure how I feel about no soap after ice hockey - will have to see. I've always used Dove and have avoided regular soaps, which le
