It's really great to see these fundraising platforms being used to make a difference in peoples lives in addition to building more tangible products.

That base is too low to consider for that position (Also, what is the strike price of the options?). I don't know your personal situation and how badly you need the job but even outside of silicon valley I think it's low and would

I don't buy all the outraged posts here or the facebook comments on the article. I expect everyone to negotiate hard on their behalf to put themselves and their families in the very best position they are able. Don't come crying

Company I used to work for did company ski trips once a season or so. It was always quite fun and good to just hang out and get to know folks who were new. It was, of course, optional and we did it over a weekend and invited spouses/SO

Man, I seriously expected this to be a flask disguised as a book. A book on Flask is cool too though.

What about a bidding based system for specific work effort for each ticket? EDIT: Github could also perhaps promote the ability of the community to give a project maintainer money and then the maintainer could distribute it to people who pr

I don't have a source, but I have seen him mention in a talk or on twitter that "right of way" would not be an issue. [citation needed]

He has already said it is not an evacuated tube though he chooses his words very carefully in all the talks I've seen. It comes up in just about every long interview he has done over the past year.

Well I'd have gone with a retina version of the MBP at this point but I understand why you did not given your HD space needs. In your situation if I was happy with the 13" inch aside from the simulator issue I'd probably make sure I had a r

Totally agree with this. My father is a carpenter and he taught me not to skimp on tools. I paid 3k for one of my MBPs in 2009 and it's still kicking. That laptop has paid for itself well over 100 times since then.

I think you forgot the solid state drive. Honestly I would have just paid up for a large external monitor and a solid state drive for the 13" MBP. Xcode is sooo much nicer with a lot of RAM (check) and a solid state drive but maybe you are

Thanks for sharing. Can you talk a bit about your decision to lean on categories so much? I'd personally prefer to see a few more base clases and DRY it up a bit. EDIT: And maybe everything inside a single header to include?

Perhaps they can now afford to put in an order system so that I don't have to remember, during the long wait, after ordering and before paying what coffee bean I chose. Or, you know, write it on the cup like everyone else. I'm looking at yo

It was more like server error roulette. If you happen to not get a server error in the first two minutes you probably got a ticket.

What state or county? Your employer is likely full of it. If they can't pay you they are going to have a difficult time paying their attorney to sue you and if there is a labor board report them ASAP. If it's me I resign in the morning but

Screw that. If you can get through it you will be fine. Even if you can't or decide you don't want to you will be fine but life is a lot of work either way and it can wear you down. I gave up. Stopped going. Dropped out. That was a mistak

xibs get in the way really really quickly after you ramp up. I would rather have a solid UI library built out that I can use between apps than have to constantly reinvent the wheel and fight with xibs and the GUI editor. Maybe they are fine
