We have vending machines with these at my university. I often start swiping my card only to realize I've accidentally "tapped to pay" (according to the reader).

Crouton is actually a breeze to use. While the crouton script itself might have a few hacks under-the-hood, the end result is quite slick. Everything just installs under `/usr/local/chroots'. Removing one of your potentially many chrooted i

I'm surprised the ARM Chromebook shipped without any mechanism for indicating which apps in the Chrome Web Store are compatible with it (maybe they expected PNaCl to be completed?). Moreover, I had no idea what NaCl was until Secure Shell s

Crouton is awesome—you get a chrooted Ubuntu accessible via crosh. You have CLI access with `sudo enter-chroot` and can launch XFCE4 with `sudo startxfce4`. I never use XFCE, but if you do, you can seamlessly toggle between ChromeOS and XFC

Thank you for clarifying! I did not know that all functions in Haskell are considered curried. My surprise stemmed in part from reading a bit about "arity" from [1]. It's interesting how the theoretical model of Haskell--"all functions in H

Really? Consider f :: a -> b -> a f a = g a g :: a -> b -> a g a _ = a It doesn't seem right to say that g "returns a function that takes one b", whereas you could say that about f.

Maybe at the beginning the filters were a distinguishing factor (I don't know because I wasn't an early adopter, nor did I try, for example, Hipstamatic or others). But now I think Instagram's clear use case is seeing the world through your

Cool hack. It would be neat if the box-shadows used relative units rather than `px` so that you could resize the result, but then why not use SVG?

Exactly, and I think this is a poor pattern cropping up in a lot of JavaScript heavy sites. Take, for example, Twitter-- You CAN right-click on links like: - "Tweets" - "Following" - etc. But you arbitrarily cannot right-click: - A link to

The bootstrap process for gcc involves first building gcc with an existing C compiler, then rebuilding gcc from this first build [1]. I'm still waiting for my build to finish, but i686-apple-darwin11-llvm-gcc-4.2 seems to be handling the gc
