Honestly, a single 50W led is more than enough for an office sized room. That’s not a lot of heat. We’ve got 16A circuits at 220V here, so you could do about 70 of those before tripping a breaker :D

I added a diy 50W LED that shines on the white ceiling of my office room. The diffuse bounced light feels closer to sunlight. It’s wonderful for those darker days. Make sure to get a high-CRI led, that’s what really makes the difference in

The different CEXs would have to coordinate such price swinging. When the price swings in a direction on one exchange, arbitrage bots will put a pressure on the price to converge back with the other exchanges. It'll get really expensiv

You "used it to make money". Would you care to elaborate? Do you just mean that you've used it in a profession setting, or do you mean something else?

The number of stars in the observable universe is roughly of the same order as the number of grains of sand on earth, and the number of atoms in a human eye. Estimates are: 10^19 grains of sand, 10^22 atoms in the human eye and 10^23 stars

I can only recommend you to read the book. It's amazing. It is so relevant for today, you'd be forgiven for not knowing it was actually published in 1992. But really, it's probably the best book I've ever read.

I like it and the comparison site on https://text-to-diagram.com I just wanted to drop a reference to Burnt Sushi's ERD tool [0]. It only does one diagram type: Entity Relationship Diagram. It's wonderful. Human-first

What's a good tool/language to write scrapers in these days? A decade ago I was using ruby with mechanize and hpricot. I hope tools have improved since then, especially for scraping sites that use javascript.

The described foobar coin was illiquid and couldn't be sold. But that's not true for BTC, ETH, and even a lot of the shitcoins that had some decent volume om multiple exchanges. So in that sense, it _was_ wealth for the holders.

Why would an exchange need to borrow money from you to allow transactions? Both parties of the transaction send their money to the exchange before the transaction takes place. That means the exchange actually has excess (working) capital.

how about Apple at the end of the 1990’s? They were almost ready to fold, got a new iCEO, and completely turned around to become the world’s most valuable company two decades later.

I think my iPhone SE has a ~7 Wh battery. It needs about 80% extra charge each day, which means its consumption is roughly 5.5 Wh per day or about 2 kWh/year. At the previous 112 TWh/year ETH was using before the merge, that would
