Worth checking out the rest of Yarin Gal (the PhD student whose work prompted this post)'s extrapolated works of art: http://extrapolated-art.com/ Some of these look so seamless it's staggering.

Fair enough, I was thinking of situations where the conversation wouldn't be held in your own space. In which case, changing location is something you would've had to do anyway. I just really like the sheer surrealness of ending a

Regarding the plot towards the end of the article, what does "efficiency" mean? Surely "vanishing" while the other person is still speaking is the fastest way to end a conversation for the least effort.

I love the slightly anthropomorphized language used in this. > "git archive" learned to filter what gets archived with a pathspec. > "git mergetool" understands "--tool bc" now > The pretty-format spec

I'm curious, what's the rationale behind var and = require("101/and"), apply = require("101/apply"); versus something like var o = require("101"); o.apply(&#x

I really enjoyed playing around with the winner ( http://js1k.com/2014-dragons/demo/1903 ), but I'm somehow surprised Highway At Night didn't win. Is there something about the winner's implementation

Likewise - I learned a lot of my English from classic adventure games. For me there was also the additional challenge of growing up in an ex-Eastern Bloc country where you could find dodgy pirated copies of games more easily than the real t

Hey, I don't understand what the problem is. The premise is ambiguous enough to invite creativity. You'd probably stumble upon a lot more innovation and playfulness here than in, say, the Sherlock Holmes fanfic section, where peop

Yeah, I'm aware of these. The kerning issue is due to an existing bug with PhantomJS on Linux [1]. Hyphenation is a feature I've been wanting to do for a while but haven't managed yet due to the lack of a decent hyphenation e

I actually did end up building a similar tool[1] for my self-published book, creating a printable PDF booklet out of markdown. It's probably not good for serious publishing but I found it hell of a lot easier to work with than LaTeX an

It's a bit finicky but it's possible. Text is vector so as long as you use print-quality images and shrink them down to screen size using the width and height properties, you can have something that looks pretty good on both print

Why is someone selling ebooks on a dark market? Surely there's more straightforward ways to get it if you're going down the illegal route anyway.

Thanks! I'm not really sure if a photo blog would be the best use for this tool. What I had more in mind is trying to get a text written in markdown as a printable book - the HTML output would be simply an online representation of that
