"A quick Google would recommend you turn router on and off again." It's not a router issue, but thank you for assuming that I am unable to do basic internet searching. I have debugged this issue in the past as it occasionally

No, twitter's frontend code is garbage. It routinely does this (at least on Firefox), and -sometimes- works on a refresh or a hard refresh. It's been this way for years. Regardless if something is really serious, then compile the

I've been using rails more or less since 2014 and while there are other options for sure, nothing is quite as nice as rails in my opinion. I honestly have never heard about any of this drama. I never really pay attention to any of that

Why can't things like option types be used? That solves the issue as you'd either have `Some<FooType>` or `None`, which could be dealt with separately.

Automechanical watches self charge from wrist movement. Quartz batteries last years. They are not comparable to smart watches, which need to be charged often. My garmin fenix is a bit more bearable as it lasts about 2.5-3 weeks on a charge.

AFAIK genre support (or maybe support for multiple genres) for a song was added relatively recently. Work is being done for genres, though. 0: https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome/issues/850

Fair enough, I don't really use features like that as I manually explore artists. I use discogs credit lists + wikipedia entries to find albums based on a particular person or a rhythm section in a time frame. In navidrome I view the r

Navidrome uses react-music-player [0], which unfortunately the author has very little bandwidth to maintain it. I've opened an issue about a bug where if you scrub the player to a different timestamp, and then move the mouse out of the

Well, why not? Neil Young is 76, Sting is 70, Bob Dylan is 80. At that point it's better to just sell the catalogue for an enormous amount of money to do things with.

I don’t really see the proposition value other than runtime. For most awk commands the syntax is succinct and works well. This unnecessarily makes it much more tedious and verbose to… save time not learning basic awk syntax? The awk manual

Fair enough, I wasn't considering the actual mechanics of the signal generation. That said I see no usage for a CD player anymore, really. I can rip a bit-perfect copy, store it in FLAC, and play it pretty much anywhere. The only place

What is a “much better” CD player? It’s a digital medium so that doesn’t make any sense. It either reads the disc and the data on it or it doesn’t. If you’re referring to the DAC portion that does make a difference obviously but that doesn’

FLAC is about future-proofing. Opus and MP3 are lossy formats. You can’t transcode them to anything else without losing data. With how cheap storage is these days there’s really no argument against FLAC because you can also transcode it to

I can clearly hear different microtone combinations when playing multiple neighbors at the same time on the linked 53 note keyboard. I'm sure at some point those tones will converge into a single note to human ears, but the fact that a

Major = happy seems like a lesson for really young kids that somehow got internalized by a lot of people. It’s so bizarre. In a major 7 chord, the 1 to major 7 interval is quite dissonant… Never mind that a major 7 chord has a minor chord i

Ultimately a lot of things around music are cultural and/or arbitrary. It's like languages in that sense. Personally I don't find this sort of analytical study to be that helpful for actually playing or improvising music, but

No. There are systems that have more than 12 notes. Plenty of instruments hit these "microtones". E.g. string instruments with frets can bend strings, and string instruments without frets can just play those notes. Genres of music

CRTs are relevant to gamecube players- in particular, super smash bros. latency. For example, playing on 720p+ displays causes upscaling, which introduces variable latency into the game and renders it unplayable at a competitive level. Thes

Music is about discipline. "Talent" is more or less a multiplier, but is useless without discipline in the first place. Needing "talent" (to be very good at it) is a myth. You don't have to be the best in the world
