Graphics performance, no. AI, also probably no. Especially if you're talking the higher end RTX cards that cost as much as these laptops. But they'll run editors, compilers, browsers, etc as well or better than a dedicated rig.

Sure, but then there's also the reality that people who don't want to deal with assholes and trolls will pack up and leave. So IMO it's best to combat it and not normalize it, so that we can have more nice things.

Well the thing is, you can get smart with OTel traces on both the client and the collector by implementing a smarter Sampler. Even something as simple as cached requests for the latest error rates that influence your sample rate can help yo

These days, after a dozen or so years of dealing with log aggregation and other systems, I just suggest to all our engineers to log a lot less and use (opentracing or opentelemetry) traces and trace events where they would normally use logs

I think it pains some of us to say it because of the person Musk has turned out to be, which is the opposite direction I think many of us were hoping his character development would take him.

I've used FSD as a subscription from time to time. I can't think of an intervention (and there have been many) that was to avoid an accident. They were all things like "that's closer to those cones than I'd like to

I don't have a Framework machine, but my favorite distribution on any machines has been Arch, because especially if you follow the wiki install, you end up with a lot more knowledge of how modern Linux works, and you get to pick any&#x

And fascinating too that, unlike digital computers where operations take clock cycles, calculations in an analog computer are effectively instantaneous.

While true, I think the reality is that this is still being figured out in the legal system right now. Forks of redis and hashicorp products should be completely fine theoretically, but there's a lot of legal chaos right now with the

I'm really glad that they've made a conscious effort to be transparent in the fact that this is not open source. That said, I'm less sure how I feel about the movement as a whole. I admire the desire to make source code trans

Humans write the code that makes those computers do things, though. And humans don't always read the standards, docs, or manuals before doing so.

I think the big reason they're so huge is they make it easy to onboard alllll your data, and incentivise you financially to stick with all their custom tooling and instrumentation. So the "quick wins" have a long tail of fina
