It's been a while since I've looked into it, but last I looked, all the required tools were free/open-source, and the only requirement to be a BlackBerry developer is/was a $20 signing key.

I think some customers (like myself) would be more hesitant to use a non-PayPal option on your site. With PayPal, I can easily cancel at any time. I would be worried that by directly providing you with my credit card number, it would be har

Legally it is not entrapment. Entrapment requires that the defendant not have a propensity to comment the offense.

Yep.. it's becoming increasingly hard to do any business with overseas banks if you have US Citizenship. Foreign banks don't want the liability.

I think you have it backwards: one of the benefits of being treated as a "common carrier" is that you aren't responsible for others misusage of your service, since you are required to be open to the public.

I honestly can't comprehend how he plans on doing his job without the internet. He's a tech-reporter for crying out loud! Relying on magazines & phone calls only to do that job in 2012 seems near impossible.

I wonder how they determine that an Android device is actually running their MDM software instead of a fake program that simulates it while being observed by the authorities?

> Also an ICBM launch is immediately associated with a nuclear attack You got it. An ICBM would set off early warning alerts about a nuclear attack, prompting a possible counter-attack.

If you read the book "Founders at Work" you'll see that fraud was a huge issue for PayPal, and was one of the first barriers to success. You can't downplay how quickly fraud will destroy any business that moves money around.

Actually RIM has added a lot of the features of Google Sync into the core of the consumer-focused BIS service. (thus, Google Sync is less necessary.)

I agree with you. In addition, compared to the price of living in a city like New York or LA, a Kindle is quite cheap and almost disposable. It makes sense to me that less New Yorkers would be trying to sell their old Kindles.

Interesting, I never knew some pacemakers used a nuclear power source. From some quick research, it appears they were generally discontinued in the 1980s in favor of lithium batteries.

I'm familiar with the 'extract from a backup' vulnerability for any information stored on Android. However, I'm more concerned that another (non root-privileged) app can access credentials without confirmation.

So the new version of Authenticator can apparently import the credentials from the old version. I don't know much about Android security, but if Google lost the signing key, would they still be able to import from the old app?
