Cell network providers have only recently been dealing with this problem. Landline and Cable providers have been reselling the same pipe through "voice", "data" and "tv" channels for a lot longer, and they continue to get away with it. Car

I really want to try this out, but I'm concerned about conflicts or syncing collisions with Dropbox. Has anyone tried a setup with both AeroFS and Dropbox running simultaneously?

The Monzy quote made by Cliff Stein caused me spit up my diet coke with laughter :) http://www.monzy.com/intro/killdashnine_lyrics.html Monzy was my TA for CS147 (intro to HCI). Small world.

The TinEye search didn't succeed in capturing FunnyJunk. Assuming The Oatmeal's artwork is still up on FunnyJunk, this implementation wouldn't work, but it's a clever idea.

No, I work in VC and OP is right. If you have a $100M fund, you invest it all, and you don't lose any money, but you also don't make any money, then you will return $100M to your LPs. Your fund will be a 1x fund and you will return 100%

AirBnB was recently valued at $1BN, so even if you assume AirBnB is worth zero, you only take a 25% haircut on this back of the napkin math (because AirBnB only represents $1BN of the $4.2BN in pg's portfolio). So, then you're talking abou

I don't work for Zoho, and I'll echo the support here. Zoho's product suite is great. As a user, I really like the way their product tie into each other. Have built a number of internal corporate projects on Zoho and have been quite happ

Yes, it is a pro-investor clause. You would agree to it in the situation where you feel you are satisfied with the term sheet (and who its from) and are ready to commit.

I ran into a glitch on lesson 19 that would not register my input properly. It was fine... i just advanced to lesson 20 manually, but might want to take a look there. Also, I found myself typing "db.unicorns.find()" a few times in order to

Yea, thanks for the feedback. I changed it and also dialed down the translucency on the white background area for the text significantly. Hopefully readability will now be improved. Thanks for reading.

Yes but couchsurfing wasn't a business... it was more of a "movement". that was the concern: could couchsurfing be commercialized.

That terseness is how Fred writes every email, it's not unique to this thread with Paul. When you try to reply to a couple hundred emails a day, this terseness is the result.

Note that there is zero mention of VRBO or Homeaway in this entire email thread. That's the real opportunity (not hotels or bed and breakfasts) and neither Fred nor Paul saw it.

The theme of all four of those methods of breaking from the 200-300K/yr income level is: leverage other people to work on your behalf. The most direct way to do that is to start a business. A slightly less direct way is to invest in existi

Interesting chart, thanks for presenting. A few issues with your methodology: 1. I'm sure compounded returns would be nice to do, but you don't know the start date for any of those investments. A 2004 vintage fund does not mean the investme
