I'm likely not the target audience, but I personally see "client-only" as a disadvantage. Ultimately I use VS Code to stand up devcontainers on my laptop, but I sometimes need to do dev work on my iPad and don't want to

It's more than a spam problem, though: you only have to look as far as Twitter to see that lax moderation that allows toxic or illegal content to exist-- even on a small part of the site-- can begin to drive away advertisers across the

Definitely use some of the platforms as a user, first. I personally use Lemmy & to a much lesser extent, Mastodon. I think once you start using them and understanding how the web UIs work (or don't), it'll help you build a men

There's serious usability & scalability issues with existing federation right now, but these traditional social platforms killing 3P clients is a huge boon for federated ecosystems. Just look at Tweetbot-- which used to be consider

I don't think he wants to badmouth Reddit and its leadership with the small chance that there's some goodwill left that would result in a compromise. He could say all the things we are thinking, but given the CEO has a history of

I tried this with the iPad for a while but it ended up just being too buggy (weird cursor and scrolling errors, in particular). I wonder if it'll be any better using eye tracking as a cursor

It could work, with a Mac (which is unfortunate, given the Vision Pro's HW is equivalent to the Mac you "need" just to run the right software). It's an unfortunate limitation that you can only run one 4k "virtual mo

I do think you're ignoring a huge part of the problem though, and that's software support. Because reality OS is iOS-based, we're likely going to end up with the same limitations, and many professional industries (software en

They announced Copilot X as using GPT-4 but its unclear to me whether it's just the new features (the chat, etc.) or the code completion that will move to GPT-4 as well. If it isn't, then Copilot has previously used OpenAI Codex (

As others have mentioned in the thread, this doesn't guard against a MITM proxy and it'd take a couple minutes to defeat this. You're much better off proxying calls from your own server API, having proper rate limits and auth
