It seems like a binary cache can already get root on your system - it is serving you binaries to run, often as root. Don't authorize a binary cache you don't trust.

Pretty sure you could just choose an LTS abi and use that.

I am well aware, the point is that ladybird is a new project following some standards and they are free to use a memory safe language now.

If its compatible with linux then the linux drivers would work right?

It's more or less working for ladybird browser, could work for a kernel.

I wonder if openai they have a response ready or if they just are tackling other business problems like ios integration now and the seemingly postponed low latency chat launch. Either way I am looking forward to claude 3.5 opus. It did seem

I wrote a single file python3 implementation with no other dependencies here: https://github.com/andrewchambers/ddmin-python It can be used as a cli program or a python library.

It really just depends if people have full disk encryption or not and whether of not the machine was fully powered off afaik.

You are right that one problem is possibly humans don't drive with their heads fixed in place, they move their neck and constantly adjust viewing angles. w.r.t. the super computer point, AI systems have been able to out perform humans

Don't humans drive with vision only?

Another downside is you lose access to all your database specific functionality, or at best makes it more complicated to use as you need to unwrap the abstraction layer.

While in general I agree, database libs are probably the worst example of this - in practice you can't just swap sqlite for postgres or mysql. I usually avoid the generic driver wherever possible and use one specific to my database.

Its getting down voted because if people want that sort of thing they can generate it themselves.

Are you talking about future AI? or just AI as it stands today. It is a moving target.

You could start your search looking for 'unikernel' tools, a few already exist.

Yes it does - via ssh force commands. In the hosted version you just tick a checkbox in the web ui for each ssh key.

It can provide diffs against ctime so you can see if files have been modified and then restored.

Yes and it can restore mtime and atime - but not ctime.

The default is to exclude them, but commands like get/restore/put take options to enable xattr support. The reason for ignoring them by default is simply pragmatic - fewer syscalls while walking the filesystem.

I am the author of bupstash - https://github.com/andrewchambers/bupstash which has many advantages over borg in my biased opinion (like air gapped decryption keys and better performance). Feel free to check it out.

The post said they simulated the universe (or you could assume just the parts close to earth), it would be simulating everything a human would interact with. I don't see the point this reply was trying to make.

They don't disagree on the facts, its just one description is an extremely uncharitable and insulting to the skills of our ancestors. There were talented and skilled healers who did the best they could with the knowledge of the time.

Hot water would need to first reach the temperature of the cold water (and overtake it) before freezing... Your explanation doesn't make sense.

Do not use async rust when you are learning. It is ok once you are proficient in rust.
