Last week I had the idea of offering emoji support for URLs in a website. It was pretty well received - some people had suggestions for emojis, others requests for features like customization. Today I had a pretty interesting request of tra

So happy to see the attention Typescript is getting lately. Absolutely love the language, and have been using it since it got released.

Oh that's great news! It's definitely going to be more accessible in terms of pricing, not even in the same ballpark as appcues. One additional thing is that we're allowing users to "cheat" our MAU system, by only i

I created an updated package with the ability to customize your emojis, and implemented it into our site (there are some examples in the description): https://www.npmjs.com/package/emoji-express

This is a follow up on my pet project. Today I integrated it into an app that we're working on and it seems to be working great so far. I implemented the suggestions and features requested. E.g. setting your own emojis for your custom

That's a pretty creative input, I didn't think about it from the perspective of universalizing these routes. I built it as a tongue in cheek project, but I'm starting to get pretty excited about polishing it.

Thanks! Well the old routes are still kept intact, so it can be accessed through let's say yoursite.com/contact - but if you choose to use an emoji you get the contact page too :D

Solved it! Routes can be associated with simple one liners now. For example: emoji.set(':emojisymbol:', '/whatever/route/here') Thanks again for the input!

Yeh that makes sense, I'll have to come up with a solution for that. I didn't think about it that deeply yet tbh, I just snapped it together as a tongue in cheek project. I'll explore some solutions for scaling and customizin

That is an interesting point, I honestly didn't think about it. The initial thought was to automate everything, so no code has to be written, just a simple import - but this comes at the cost flexibility and customization. I'll tr
