Can people please stop boasting that they are retiring at 20, 25, etc.? If you drop out of work and start your own business, you have not retired. Achieving financial independence and not working for other people is great. Retiring is not a

On the contrary, both were done with the employers' knowledge. The first ORM was very... magic-heavy, relying on monkey patching classes and stuff like that. Therefore, it was a pain to debug. The second one I wrote later using code generat

Am I the only one that finds certain aspects of NoSQL databases easier to use than SQL? Despite having used different SQL ORMs and writing two on my own, I'm a big fan of MongoDB. It's fun using it for small projects, too, even if I know sc

This is great, I was thinking about making a similar app, but never got around to it. I'd love a simple ACL for channels. For example, you could do S3-style channel+timestamp+hash authentication, with the hash generated on the server with a

No offense to your project, but if you feel disadvantaged from not being in the Silicon Valley, segregating yourself into your own aggregator is not in your advantage. Plus, if I recall correctly about half of HN users are not US based. Als

Overfishing is the culprit here. With less fish in the seas jellyfish - immortal and regular - can procreate much more easily, and have access to more food. Here's a relevant article: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/273850 I am surp
