Well yes, and that's the issue. Capitalism was there in a basic form way before the western international order. Worth reading on it.

Tried NetBSD and OpenBSD in the past, and had worse issues in terms of compatibility. However, I had to rephrase my comment based on someone else's comment, and based on the realization that it's not FreeBSD and BSDs at fault: s&

Very disappointed by BSDs and FreeBSD in particular. The other day I wanted to build a pihole set-up using it - do you think it works seamlessly with raspberry pi? It doesn't. Wanted to install it on my UEFI bios - have to take more st

But isn't that what you mainly do in an office? For some that is not life either. Having friends outside of work, a family, a house you enjoy living in may change your perception. Not saying this on and argumentative tone. Just take in

One can barely get 1Gbps connections in the UK, and in most parts even 10Mbps is a lot. TBps may have to wait a few eons.

No mentioning of the asset store - almost got scammed by the author of a popular terrain shader author. Fortunately Unity issued a refund, but the person has been quite bullish on their forum and is still selling there. As a fee forum admin

If in doubt just switch to ubuntu (there are better alternatives, but its a good starting point). I’m done with macos (tho i really loved it).

I switched to a sleek amd based setup and ubuntu, 64 gigs of ram, tons of nvme storage and for a decent price. Sad to see macos go out my daily toolkit, but fortunately i no longer have to deal with this kind of crap. I still use mac occasi

Wondering how many of those rejecting it are sadly adults sharing a home with other adults, live in crammed rooms or just have empty lives. These are aspects to be taken into account - and wfh might give them the opportunity to live in bett

Yeah but apparently there are people who can't make their own sandwiches because that leads to decision fatigue, and as such remote work sucks. Anyway, sarcasm. I totally support WFH due to less commute time, more money saved, increase

Unfortunately I stopped using freebsd some 10-12 years ago, due to lack of compatibility and modern applications. I wouldn't have minded contributing with tooling but it lags so much behind linux that it would have been a waste of time

I’m far from rich, but see, remote work lets you own a property in a much nicer, cleaner, safer, area than in crowded cities for less money than a studio. A remote engineer doing work for a high paying company can be the richest outside cro

Genuine questions: what makes ca have such lower number of deaths compared to ny, given it has a comparable number of tourists and both are crowded? Also, ca has a somewhat comparable climate to italy and spain, yet CA has fared much better

I have to read more on how this works in Germany, but the idea of UBI would be that everyone would get 400 eur. I know that is not possible right now without taxing individual income even more, and as such my view is we should come up with

These all are very interesting points, but I think most are centred around unemployment benefits, rather than UBI. This pandemic made me realise how fortunate we are for living in Europe - literally any part of the eu, has done a better job

Good point - so if the goal of the side project is to learn a new skillset then this is the wrong answer, but if the goal is to build an MVP then it is right - use whatever gets you there quicker.
