Firebase only stores data at the moment, to store the static assets, you'll still need a service like S3, Github Pages, Site44, or Harp.IO.

Would love to see your angular-firebase module (if you're willing to share it) - it would be great to integrate some of it back into the original module!

That's correct, the Simple Login service allows apps that use Firebase to integrate Persona authentication: https://www.firebase.com/docs/security/simple-login-persona.... This means the data you store in Firebase can be associated with a

Firebase has a flexible authentication system coupled with security rules: https://www.firebase.com/docs/security-quickstart.html . You can generate your own JWTs (if you have a server or a custom auth backend) or use Simple Login, a servi

While building sample apps with Firebase, binding data changes to the DOM was always the part that seemed to be "missing". We think Angular and Firebase go really well together by filling that gap, and would love to hear your feedback on ho

Nothing in particular other than I'm from India :) When naming projects I usually look to the English thesaurus first, failing which I'll use a Hindi or Tamil word.

Peer-to-peer systems still use DNS "servers". Pure P2P WebRTC systems still need STUN "servers". In fact, one of the peers in a P2P system could also be considered a server. "Serverless" as you define it would describe nothing in existence

The bindings simply extend the Collection object and override certain methods on it (add, remove, etc.) to do the corresponding Firebase operations. We did run into a few relatively minor issues; for example when doing a smart update to a c

For reference, Simple Login is a convenient way to add authentication to a Firebase app using Facebook, Twitter, Persona, Github or just plain old email/password identities. More at https://www.firebase.com/docs/security/simple-login-overv

Great question - the bindings can take a regular Firebase reference object instead of a URL as well. If you had authenticated the Firebase reference using any of the regular Firebase methods (like Simple Login), the collection will simply i

We currently provide convenience SDKs to login with Facebook, Twitter and just a regular email/password, but the system is flexible enough to allow any authentication mechanism that can produce JWTs.

This will happen if the Facebook SDK couldn't be loaded. Perhaps you have a script blocker running? I've filed an issue to fix this - https://github.com/firebase/firefeed/issues/3

Thanks, that is good feedback! We're working on supporting multiple auth providers, but the larger question of federation is more interesting, and equally harder. We're not sure about where to take Firefeed yet, since it was built as a demo

I think the key extra feature is that you can share what you're working on with someone else and have both people collaborate in real-time (i.e. changes on either end show up near-instantly on the other side). Supplemented by a voice channe

Microkernels and Linux style kernels solve different problems. If reliability is your concern, then Microkernels are the way to go because a buggy driver (which will exist no matter how careful you are) can't take down your entire system. F

If I pay for it in the (currently in development) Mozilla app store, that means I can't use it in Chrome. Is this really what we want for the web? FWIW, this is not the model that the Mozilla "app store" proposes. You will be able to buy
