Privileged users usually have BIOS access. BIOS's are often designed to be configurable/flashable with vendor-specific tools that your run on top of your OS.

I'm not sure what it is but the screenshots make me feel itchy. I take it privacy means privacy except from your boss, your company and the Govt.? So far fewer guarantees than with self-hosted FOSS alternatives?
