I disagree: the hardware virtualization mechanisms provide an extra level of protection. Just like the non-virtualized protection mechanisms do. No virtualization developer is under the impression that it's magical or bulletproof. You

I disagree with this advice. SR&ED consultants are simply exploiting a knowledge gap for serious profits. If you can, you should find someone who can help you and give advice, but don't give away 10%+ of the return.

I was disagreeing, but I don't think you are wrong: just misinterpreting. I think that a good currency really has couple properties: fungible, no inherent value (i.e. not a good value store). (This could be viewed as a weakness but I t

Beyond that, I think some people don't accept that sometimes they will need to do things they don't like (i.e. work hard to do well in a "boring" required course). This may also come with age, but I think it's a mor

I completely disagree with this. While it may be true that if classes were more interesting then cheating would be reduced slightly, that doesn't make it the problem. Similarly, if content creators didn't want any money for their

I don't think it's reasonable to refer to the entire banking system (incl. wire transfers, etc.) as "legacy". It's like referring to BTC as legacy crypto currency, because now we have dogecoin.

Anecdote. I actually installed steam yesterday (for the first time, I'm not a gamer) to see the available games for Linux. I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few that looked okay. So I bought a couple. None worked -- mysterio

Yes, I know. My point was related to the terminology re: static, dynamic, shared, etc. A statically-linked library won't share any state with other users of the library. It's statically-linked into the binary. State will be shared

AFAIK there's no shared, writable section in ELF. But of course you could still easily mmap() a file to achieve the same thing (even from the shared library .init functions). I can understand that the shared section might be abused by
