Maduro won fair elections in 2013 observed by neutral observers. Sanctions were placed by Obama in 2014.

They’re pretty good as far as I know, my country didn’t receive any of those but I’ve visited countries in Africa that have received them and they’re getting really great infrastructure and knowledge sharing from them!

It’s disingenuous to talk about Maduros popularity without mentioning the brutal sanctions placed on it by the US, which caused the crisis in the first place.

That debt issued by a central bank to its government to productively utilize real resources is not inflationary and not really “owed” to anyone. It’s an accounting detail. In response to you saying that there is no free lunch since debt is

Read up on the cases you posted. The UK deliberately ignored the EU ruling. You probably know how to read but research might not be your forte.

We don’t need to nitpick. I think it’s obvious that saying I don’t know anyone with this opinion != nobody has this opinion.

I don’t think that’s reasonable at all. Can you imagine a world where a government could spend infinite money without any problems? If you can’t, then why would someone else think that? If you thought my understanding of macroeconomics was

Who’s we? I’m guessing you’re not a general in the US military, so I don’t know why you’re inserting yourself into this decision. Do you think a nuclear war would be good for you? Obviously not, so you shouldn’t want your government to thre

I never said anything about lending infinite money, don’t straw man me. The constraint is on real resources, which China has plenty of, regardless of how much debt they have. The financial situation is an accounting detail. China could deci

Yes, I am, and yes I don’t particularly mind the immigrants. Even if I did mind them, venezuelan immigrants are preferable to the US military invading my neighbours. The TIAR? The one that says an attack on one is an attack on all, which bo

The brazen callousness with which you advocate for the spread of nuclear weapons and the subjugation of other nations’ sovereignty is disgusting. You’re probably one of the worst people I’ve ever interacted with.

What the fuck do you think China is going to do next time the US does an “exercise” in the china sea? What the fuck do you think Iran is going to do next time Israel acts up and the US supports it?

I hope the rest of south america doesn’t let this stand. Heavy sanctions on US, maybe even military intervention. The US can’t go to war with an entire continent.

You’re not convinced that the US invading other countries and deposing presidents is bad? In a world where nuclear weapons exist?

Not sure where here is for you. But anyway, even if you can win a battle you can’t win a war. If a government wants to do something, it will regardless of how any individual person, rich or not, feels about it. It just so happens that most

I’m not a lawyer, and many of these cases are not famous enough to be reported on in a format easily understandable to a layperson. I’m also not going to read through case resolutions to respond to a hacker news comment. I did take a cursor

I would say that’s an extension of the idea that rich people run the US government, which runs global organizations such as the world bank, which runs these ISDS courts. China is just big enough to be able to ignore these global orgs.

This post has been a wake up call. I need to be more careful who I bother responding to. This reminds me of the time I found out there’s a ton of libertarians here that think drivers licenses are oppression.
