Because I didn't want to start a religious debate about Emacs, which seems to have happened anyway ;) Actually, I don't see why I have to defend this. I've used Emacs before, I don't really want to again. Isn't that good enough? I'm happy f

True. I'll update above regarding n. However, it's certainly different to the other examples and I would expect fib(2) to be 1 + 0 not 1 + 1. It's a very minor point though - I think I'll stop now ;)

I think it's still wrong by that definition. I think it is just saying fib(1) is the first number, not fib(0). fib(2) should never be 2. EDIT: Actually, I think you're right: it's just an index thing (do we start at 1 or 0) - I was confusin

I did - with 2: fib(2) = fib(2-1) + fib(2-2) fib(2) = fib(1) + fib(0) fib(2) = 1 + 1 (rather than 1 + 0) No?

Shouldn't: def fib(n): if n < 2: return 1 else : return fib(n - 1) + fib(n - 2) Be: ... if n < 2: return n ... ? Or am I being stupid? EDIT: changed x to n.

It's just more keypresses mainly, but also you are unnecessarily changing focus to the browser. If you have your Vim session set to "Always on Top" or to one side, you never have to leave the editor to see your changes. (On a side note, I w

You've linked to the sourceforge project page, a better link is probably the web page at: http://sbcl.sourceforge.net/ Or http://sbcl.sourceforge.net/news.html if you were highlighting the latest release.

The funny thing is that this reads like sarcasm to me as well. I think it's just your very abrupt style. "It took a day and a half" implies it should have happened quicker and it's not your fault. Please don't take this personally!

We used the tracker in GForge AS. We used it on two sub-projects, one with 2 developers and a manager and one with around 8 members of varying technical expertise. The problem I have is how do you your tracker data out at the end of the pro

A bit of digging ( http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?1,1138009,1138221 ) suggests it was originally meant for "Through the past, darkly", which was a hits album (released in 1969). Warhol never recieved the materials in time and ended up do

They seem to get finding the median slightly wrong: "Note that finding the median of an array is a special case of this where k = n/2." I'm pretty sure it should be k = (n+1) / 2. (If there are 5 numbers, you want the 3rd one, if there are

Yes, good point. Blogs are more analogous to editorials than news stories, and editorials are usually clear in political bias. To be honest, I wish I'd spent a little longer on the post; I think I lost the thread slightly. I certainly think

Good suggestion, but I think I'll go with one of the other solutions for a few reasons: - I'd rather keep things completely static if I can - It ties my site to Apache a bit - I may as well take advantage of some of the other features Jekyl

That's what prompted me to ask the question. Have you used it? What do you think? Going on what I've seen so far, I think Jeykll might be the best choice.

I'm not too convinced at the minute. The problem is that everyone here (hacker news) is having their own little converstation about this and it's the same for reddit etc. When you stick all this into one list, you are losing context. What i
