Feels like this is something a person who expects me to work on weekends would think. Don't get me wrong, I used to agree with you, I know however believe otherwise. There is more to life than coding and computing. We have to have time

1. It's like saying you don't need Rails, just use Sinatra and if your app really needs it then use Rails. I'll pick rails even for a super simple project because I'm very comfortable, quick with it. 2. "You don

I agree with you here. After 8 hours of intensive coding, or whatever I could squeeze out of myself that day, going home and doing more of the same is the last thing I want to do. I doubt we can code for 12-14 hours a day steadily for a lo

The latest project I'm currently working on I got to choose how to build. It is an internal CMS. I went with Rails API, React, Material-UI. So far, I like it. I like separation. I know that one side ( ruby, rails, gems, pg, sql etc )

Being able to produce nice, competent design requires a very different skill set from the one developer has. It's not our job to know what are complementary colors, what is hierarchy etc. But when handed sketch/photoshop design it

it is sort of "expected". People want a native experience. To me, the entire concept seems wrong. It's like having to submit your website to chrome, and safari, and mozila, and be approved by them, for them to display your si
