One of the core devs have expressed interest in creating an sqlite version. But work hasn't started. If you would like to chip in we would be happy to support you in every which way.

Indeed. Prompt-toolkit was instrumental in the design of all these tools. :)

Fish shell's design doc [0] was a huge inspiration in the design of pgcli [1] and mycli [2]. Thank you for leading the charge on modern command line design. [0] https://fishshell.com/docs/current/design.html

He was the president of Django Software Foundation while running the startup. So naturally he was a big proponent of Django and his stack was written completely in Django.

The reason being the format change will be jarring to someone who is not used to seeing the expanded mode. But you bring up a good point. I'm not mired by maintaining legacy, so I could take this as an opportunity to educate users abou

You can change this to an empty space via the config file right now. In ~/.config/pgcli/config look for continuation prompt and set it to empty string.

That's good to know. Perhaps I should replace the dots with empty space. I'll do that if we get more requests for it. Thank you for the feedback.

Yes! I always use bpython never the default python repl. That's one of the very few python packages that gets installed system wide.

My talk at Pycon was about building modern commandline shells using python. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJhZhLg3obk I'd love some feedback.

You know this actually exists: https://github.com/catherinedevlin/ipython-sql I found out about this from one of the core-devs of pgcli. He made it possible to embed pgcli inside ipython. We wrote a blog post about how

I'm the author of pgcli and mycli. I was tempted to write a universal cli that supported both postgres and mysql, but then I decided to keep them separate for the following reasons: 1. Psql comes with backslash commands that are implem

It takes minute to download and install all the default plugins. So it takes a few minutes after the first launch to start working.

I've been living with the current speed for 10 years now. I do feel like it is dragging me down a bit. Especially when I pair program with coworkers and I see how fast they can type, I feel like I could be doing better.

Hi. I'm the author. This was written after I watched a couple of videos from javascript30.com. It doesn't use any framework, just pure JavaScript. It's designed for desktop with a keyboard. Does not work on phones or tablets.

Thanks a lot for creating vimwiki. I've been using it for years to keep my notes. Thanks for adding markdown support. :) Is there a way in which I can show my gratitude? I can donate money or contribute code (if you need help).

Two years ago I created a CLI tool called pgcli ( http://pgcli.com ). A postgres client with auto-completion. It became ridiculously successful. I got a few requests to support mysql. So I launched a kickstarter to write mycli ( h

The tool looks fantastic. Well done! I like how prompt_toolkit ( https://github.com/jonathanslenders/python-prompt-toolkit ) is inspiring a lot of these user friendly command line tools.
