This comment made me laugh, because I was looking into doing an online highschool, and while looking for discussions on the pros/cons, I stumbled upon the Reddit, which was all "Does anybody have the answers to the Unit 3 test for

Maybe it's different for higher education, but at least for my more memorization-centric high school courses (religion, science, civics), I find that I get good-enough grades by just feeding ChatGPT the test reviews and having it creat

I disagree, assuming that your goal is being able to recall the backside of the flashcard. Making the flashcards is equivalent to 2 or 3 reviews IMO.

I believe that GP is trying to say that your child picked up that behaviour by watching you. Monkey see, monkey do. (No offence intended towards your child.)

What? It's not talking about WINE, it's talking about SteamOS. > The Steam Machine is basically a tiny gaming desktop for your TV, running the Steam Deck's SteamOS. That platform is a Linux distribution optimized for emula

Do you know how to use a fountain pen? Do you know how to tell your position by the stars? Do you know how to start a fire with sticks and stones? Life's too short to spend it hoarding trivia.

What I mean by "forget" is more about losing fluency. Right now when I look at a clock, I can have the hour in around half of a second and the minute in another half a second. But I know that a) I was faster a few years ago and t

Not a student in any of those countries, but speaking as a Canadian: I was taught how to read a clock in early grade school (grade 1, I believe?), and retain this ability now. I can see myself losing this ability in the next few years given

Is learning how to read an analogue clock really an effective use of one's time? I myself was taught how an am able to read an analogue clock, but I doubt that I would be much worse off without that abulity.

This sort of thing is some of the weirdest pseudointellectualism I've seen. Most adults and seniors also can't tell where they are by the position of the stars, or write with a fountain pen, or use a sliderule, or read a sundial.
