My trainer was certified by the people who make and sell the course/questionnaire. She made it clear that this was the official position. So, no, she was not a doofus.

When I did this test, the trainer was pretty clear that it's not meant to be a 'spectrum'. You're either an E or an I and that was that. The only one they claimed might be a spectrum was P to J.

Not really a key paragraph. The article states that jumpers of all abilities are going in (dying). This is just one possible reason related to novices.

And in the wifi hotspots, there'll be a separate network and you pay a dude 1CUC to type in the password (access for 1hr). It's obviously not legit but it works and people get online this way.

It's not abandoned AFAIK, it's a small team that does consulting and they have to prioritise work for customers. When that coincides with Ling they can make progress. I've heard this from more than one unikernel/LibOS p
