This is a myth. V compiles itself in <1s, can translate entire DOOM, has a working kernel/OS (Vinix), 10k+ PRs, 600+ contributors etc. While the bad track record you mention is about junk like git/libc dependencies and system(&

V uses a GC by default, but it's easily disabled per function/module via the @[manualfree] attribute or for the entire project via `v -gc none` https://vlang.io

You can download the browser, press D (debug) to see how fast it's rendered, and compare to Chrome (dev tools). You'll get similar numbers.

V is stable for a pre 1.0 lang and delivers everything promised on the home page and in the docs. A fixed memory leak in os.input() in a 0.4 language, really?

But you say that flamewars are not wanted, and yet they are allowed to be started by a small number of accounts. All of the flamewar threads in this post were done by 4 accounts, which follow V posts and my comments, and start the flamewars
