Every kid I met hates/doesn’t appreciate what their parents do/are at all. Like 0. I think it’s an evolutionary adaptation.

Probably the best thing for the young chimpanzees is to be out of the house most of the time, be put into a bunch of sports/programs. At that age they start to resent their parents, and they learn a lot more when they're outside d

Electrons balance the nuclear charge by their distance from the nucleus. They’re not perfectly equal; the electrons move closer or farther to maintain balance with the nucleus. I think it’s called effective nuclear charge.

I like the "lipid world" hypothesis over the "RNA world". It reminds me of the chicken or the egg argument. I don't see how life could form outside of a controlled environment, like an egg or a seed. Something forms

It’s an okay solution, not the best, but definitely the most expensive. Another solution that would have been cool and expensive: if they put a camera in each corner of the screen. Then at least they could have the rounded corners they alwa

A bring your own bag/bottle/container store would be cool. Everything would be shipped in bulk to the grocery store, and people would take what they want in their own containers.

I always thought the plastic bags deal was not seeing the forest through the trees. Most food comes in heavy plastic. The food is consumed in a day or so, and the plastic lasts FOREVER. Forcing the companies to use paper or glass packaging,

The article said it wasn’t visible because that stub was machined after it was placed in the hub. Which begs the question “why would you weld a tube in place and then finish machining it after?” Maybe it was easier/faster to machine it

I never got what different time zones was supposed to accomplish. Why doesn’t everyone just use GMT? Why does the clock have to say 8 when you go to work? Wouldn’t it be better if we used the same clock everywhere?

Remember when Microsoft wanted to license CPM to IBM, but they didn’t own it, so they got someone to make a clone and licensed that to IBM?

I wonder if people will choose not to buy games developed in Unity after all this backlash?

Seems like they’re trying to fund their unprofitable acquisitions by harming their profitable core. They could have spent that money making unity better/more stable. I hope they make it out of this. The unity editor is pretty great.

You have a bunch of judges, none of which are immune to racism and corruption, giving out their version of the law from big oak benches while a suspect is held against their will in jail for however long. I think a computer can do better.

Yeah, there’s no way that a modern computer could outdo the logical accuracy and processing power of our 300 year old legal system. Court rooms and arguing and paperwork, much more efficient than silicon.

I’m sure they’re not doing it for the money, but their Patreon brings in over 2k/month. Not enough to quit your day job, but pretty good side money. Plays Zelda better than the Switch too!!

Drivers don’t follow rules bc there’s no enforcement. E-bikes are grey area vehicles. There should be no gray areas. If you have a motor on your vehicle it’s a motorized vehicle and needs to be registered and plated, driven on the road, giv

E-bikes need to be registered and plated. They won’t be on sidewalks if they’re getting ticketed. If ny is good at anything, it’s issuing tickets. They’re the same as motorcycles, scooters, mopeds. They need to be more powerful, not less, t

Build giant Ferris wheels. You would think the would spend that money on buying land in less inhospitable places, maybe somewhere in Africa. Natural resources would be nice. Water. Food.
