The "simple" code completely breaks with cross-compilation. This is because the autoconf macros will first look for the CHOST-pkg-config program (e.g. armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi-pkg-config), which will normally be a wrapper around pkg-c

Fun fact: there exist pairs of positive monotonic functions f(x) and g(x) such that neither f(x)=O(g(x)) nor g(x)=O(f(x)), i.e. the functions are not comparable asymptotically. Example: f(x)=gamma(floor(x)+1) (=floor(x)!) g(x)=gamma(floor(

Static If [1]. Would simplify a lot of template code, like generic data structures with optional features. template <class Entry, bool useParents> struct AvlTreeHelper { int balance; Entry \ child[2]; static if (useParen

Also note that only the most basic library functions are likely to be optimized specifically for your platform (e.g. assembly). Mostly basic memory stuff like memcpy, strcpy, memcmp, strcmp, strchr,... Anything more complex can be usually b

Implementing something using as little foreign code as reasonably possible can actually be a good way to make it correct an secure. You write it once and prove it's correct. After that, you're done, no matter how libraries around you change

So you really need this, would that mean you may be able to use my language for something? If so, just say, and I can add this little feature, but I wouldn't like spending time for nothing :)

I've never seen why that would be useful. Switches and Ethernet cards aren't that unreliable in my experience, and I've plugged cables into a different switch in less than a few seconds :) I think if you really needed that, the nicest way

The inotify script likely has a race condition; if the directory is modified while an update is running, it won't pick up the second modification, and will wait in a dirty state until it is modified again. If anyone wants a race-free soluti

Hi, I'm the developer of NCD. I've experimented a little with using NCD as the init process, with some success. It's a very simple system now: http://code.google.com/p/ncdinit/ I think using NCD as init or otherwise makes a lot of sense
