Tulips bulbs are more-or-less fungible; but I guess you're thinking of tulips because of the speculative nature of these assets?

What's stopping you from taking a picture of a painting and hanging the painting in your house? There's nothing stopping you, but your print is worthless and the original is valuable. The fact that the NFTs use the ETH blockchain

In every way I think about it, this difference in salary seems justified. I can't imagine inspecting slaughterhouses is very fun or rewarding, but it's super important for society.

I totally understand the fascination with type systems. It's just that in my experience, the people are have the most success with intricate type systems are much smarter than I am ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was exaggerating; however, I also learned TS and CLJS at the same time and walked away utterly confused with TS and absolutely loving CLJS. I'm a solo dev-- TS probably gets a lot more useful when there's a team of people workin

I'm a developer with 15+ yrs of experience in the web, and I'm definitely not smart enough to understand TypeScript. It seems like only 9000 IQ geniuses can be productive in it, especially if you're starting a project from sc

I did this last year and I don't regret it for a second. I've also developed a kind of higher standard for the games that I allow to take some of my time. Praise be to Valve, as Proton has freed me from the tyranny of Windows.

I am not making a claim of whether or not you want irreversible transactions or that they are somehow inherently better than reversible ones. I am simply pointing out that USD != bitcoin, so the Tesla-driving-cash example is a fundament

It's reversible in the sense that the second you leave, I can just claim you never dropped off the cash. AKA I can reverse it. Bitcoin isn't digital cash, it has different tradeoffs. That implies there are upsides/downsides t

In that case, write them a cheque? If you don't want irreversible transactions, you don't want bitcoin. My point is that claiming bitcoin is or isn't inefficient relative to other systems is nonsense. There's simply no c

That's not really what irreversible transactions means in this context. What ledger has recorded this transaction? How might a dispute be resolved? What's stopping the receiver from just claiming you never dropped off the cash whe
