Though you make valid points, the scale of a typical Github wiki is nowhere near the scale of Wikipedia.

You know what you need to do. You've got to push yourself forward! Try not to lament about the past, just concentrate on making your future better.

I wasn't aware of this project! I may indeed switch from GReader to Newsblur, since it seems to be more in line with my habits. I guess Newsblur and the subject of this topic solve different problems.

Garbage collection, (now) JIT compilation, combined with Dalvik, plus lots of developers know the syntax. Not to mention you can use native code with the NDK. Java was a good choice in my opinion. I've done enough development for Android to

I think more a more likely explanation is that they lacked the infrastructure to roll it out effectively. If that's the case then they should have just waited until they could deliver. It's pure conjecture of course!

The entire event model has been shifted from Carbon to Cocoa, which means a huge headache for their code. Not to mention a horrendous mess of new drawing models. The NPAPI is a dated, ancient, neglected API that gets more difficult to work

It's a choice that many people trivialize. The point of the post was, I think, a bit of a warning to think about startup life seriously before diving in.

I am by no means a philosopher, but I've read some Rawls and found him both clear and accessible. I wish more philosophical writing was this way!

I hop between Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows all the time, so little annoyances like this just fade into the background for me. I can appreciate how this would annoy somebody, though.

It's worn on the pinky finger of the working hand so that it drags across your work, serving as a constant reminder. It doesn't smudge, it just presses against your skill all the time. That's also why it has the rugged "hammered" look. It

I don't think the problem evaporates if it's inherent. Let's say, for the sake of the argument, and women are on average more intelligent than men. If that's the case, we should still run programs to encourage men to explore higher learning
