That's a really great idea! Thanks! Any suggestions perhaps as to where best to get info on click-to-buy partnerships? I guess something like iTunes music store or Amazon would work right?

I'm currently using a very neat framework called EyeTunes ( http://www.liquidx.net/eyetunes/ ) which handles all iTunes communications. When I was prototyping I would access iTunes information by AppleScripts.

It is interesting to me when people say that "search is not a market". So pardon my ignorance but if search isn't a market, why (in the case of antitrust clauses against Microsoft) are browsers a market? Can somebody explain what constitute

Just guessing but maybe because it's a way of buying things on Amazon dot com without having a CC with a US address?

Maybe its just me, but I swear I read the exact same thing year after year. Only thing different each year is the author(s). Makes you wonder how long it takes for giants to die.

I haven't read the article and am commenting on strictly the title but yes, yes you CAN get different results doing the same thing!

Despite what society tells us, I think that fear is normal and totally acceptable. We know ourselves best. And sure, after the fact we can say things like "oh I should have", "I could have" or "if only I wasn't scared", but you know what, t

Interesting how apparently adventurous parts of life and safe parts of life are mutually exclusive.

I've worked at Microsoft before and I can tell you that a lot of people have Apple products. From iPhones to Macbooks and the like. That's the beauty of freedom.

If you could possibly provide more info as to how your friend did it. I'd definitely be interested, my laptop needs a boost.

Microsoft has PM, SDE and SDET roles. As you can probably imagine, the employee concentration (of the 2500), might very well be in SDET.

Imho, you're confusing shyness with a lack of confidence.

I managed to miss out on seeing this video 6 months ago. I think it's even more true now that 6 more months are out of the way. Catchy and creative!

I think the word impossible was used loosely. Because I can honestly say that I very well could have lived my life never having heard of the word 'trochees'.

With excitement I loaded the HN comments for this story only to find that everybody had already beaten me to bashing the insanity of this story. :)

You can't hate and then provide logical reasons for your hate. Hate by definition is illogical. People hate Microsoft because it IS cool and because they ARE the leader. However they then try to justify their hate with rational reasons. Hat

Either ban them all (Google included) or ban none. But if you must, just limit what they can and cannot crawl.

As somebody who has devoted a lot of hours coding up a way to efficiently and quickly defeat a captcha system, I tip my hat to these skillful coders.

The article makes a good point. While everybody enjoys being treated well, perhaps it's possible to overdo it? I mean really, are slides and firemen poles a necessity? The answer is NO, unless ... you want your engineers to never leave. No

It is amazing and inspiring to see such energy and enthusiasm in another human being. I gave him a standing ovation when the video finished, not because he would care but because I had to show my appreciation.

You do realize that we have no way of accurately defining nor measuring Intelligence. IQ tests are nothing short of an ego booster and have been shown time and time again to be inaccurately ways of measuring intelligence. http://www.audibl

I guess it all comes down to one's priorities. If you put your ego and pride above all else then I don't think any amount of money will ever be enough to quench your self-obsession. On the other hand, if you have the chance to become comfor
