I have very complex password generation requirements for some of the services I need to access and KeePassX does not: 1) have nearly the same level of support for defining complex password generation rules 2) have support for savi

I'd probably switch to KeePassX instead of running KeePass in wine if the password generator were as flexible.

People would probably be more excited about updates if they actually received more than one or two minor updates from their OEMs and carriers over the lifetime of their device. I'm very happy now that I've switched to a Nexus devi

If you've recently upgraded to VirtualBox 5.0.18 you might try downgrading to 5.0.16 as I had a similar issue earlier this week.

It's really annoying to get caught in a blog.domain.com subdomain without any obvious links back to the main domain.

Is there really any need to generate non-alphanumeric passwords as long as they are of sufficient length? Sticking with plain old A-Za-z0-9 seems like it avoids a lot of interop issues.

Yes, that does seem like a pretty straightforward hardware configuration and I've certainly felt similar pains in the past. For a period of several months Windows 8/8.1 on my laptop refused to download and install updates due to

I just find it interesting that over a wide range of random hardware that Windows 10 appears to have not been a problematic upgrade for me and this is speaking as a power user that has oddball software/hardware configurations. Also, my

That's a really unfortunate experience upgrade experience. My experiences after upgrading multiple machines has been flawless so far - even on an old Dell Vostro 1500 laptop.

Yep, that change broke CrashPlan's JNI module that handles inotify on Linux because they were checking only the minor version number. I had to write a shared library to override the call and inject that into the CrashPlan process so it

True, I already pay a higher premium due to living in a large city. However, my point is I believe insurance companies will intentional use the data they gather about one's moment to moment driving habits in order to justify premium i

Yes, I know that Flash can be manually kept up to date. However, it's nice to have Google taking care of that issue via updates to Chrome. Regardless, for me it's more about risk management. What's the more likely scenario?

Chrome won't be getting updates and I'm assuming that means no security updates for the version of flash bundled with Chrome.

This type of wholesale spying on law abiding citizens goes back 15+ years. I blame Obama, Bush, Congress, et al for not showing a backbone and ending these programs. Edit: I'm in an exceedingly grumpy mood today. :-/

Cry me a river. The widespread adoption of encryption wouldn't have been such a pressing issue if spy agencies like the NSA hadn't been abusing their powers by conducting mass surveillance on law abiding citizens.
