I don't like coffee script for the same reason - it adds extra processing steps and runs different code than I write in the browser. While it cleans things up, I personally haven't worked on a Javascript project that would benefit

Maybe this works for server stuff, but if you are doing client-side JS I feel like adding this sort of layering as more trouble than its worth. But when it comes to JS, I'm a minimalist.

Is this "gain" really worth the additional compilation step? The best thing about javascript in my book is saving my file in VI, and then clicking "refresh" on the browser. Having to re-process these files after each cha

This could easily just be a Javascrip app, built in a weekend, using a more complete toolset of CSS generators and button creators, for free.

Some internal bureaucrat would of course swat this down if it gained momentum, but if I was building a low cost mid grade datacenter I would buy them.

Pick a project that has a smaller scope. Frameworks, libraries, or languages are never "finished" as much as they are no longer maintained, or becomes obsolete. Make a 5 level game. Build a browser plugin that logs and visualizes

As a customer, I feel unfairly targeted without my participation for the profit of a third party. This makes money, but it does not make the world a better place to want to live in.

So you're an asshole? Clearly I'm joking, but people have tendencies and knowing the general buckets of tendency-groups makes it easier to interact with a wider variety of people (and not just introverted engineers).
